The Docs Contribution Program is for anyone who would like to contribute to the CMS or Cloud documentations in exchange for points that can then be used in the Strapi Shop to get Strapi goodies.

As a docs contributor, you can either do the contribution of your choice on any page that you’d like, or you can pick a topic suggested by the Documentation team (i.e. known docs issues that aren’t a high priority for the Docs team at the moment).
Your pull request will be reviewed by the Strapi Documentation team to ensure that your contribution respects the 12 Rules of Technical Writing and Strapi Documentation Style Guide.

How the program works

Documentation is never fully complete. At Strapi, we are particularly aware of the issues of the documentation, because for several years now we have been listing and fixing as we go as many issues and improvement opportunities that Strapi users reported via the feedback widget, NPS survey, user interviews etc. But Strapi is a product and company that keeps on evolving and growing, and so is our documentation backlog!

Strapi is fortunate enough to benefit from a community that is quite keen on helping and contributing in various areas — so we thought that it was time to create a proper initiative around documentation contribution!

Here’s how the program works in a nutshell:

Anyone can participate in the Docs Contribution Program.
The contribution can be done on any Strapi documentation (CMS or Cloud).
The choice of the contribution topic is up to the contributor.
Each contribution is rewarded with a number of points that depends on the size of the contribution.
The points are only granted once the contribution is approved and merged by the Docs team.
The points rewarded are granted on the Strapi Shop and can only be used on that website.

The Documentation Contribution Program is automated and is based on the retrieval of your email address on GitHub, so that you can have an account in the Strapi Shop with the right number of point that you earned with your contributions. To ensure that the automation works, your email address on GitHub must be public.

To do so, go to your GitHub profile settings > Emails. In the “Keep my email address private” section, switch to “Off”.
